Aaron Taghdiri

Aaron has been in the property market since 2010. His experience includes not only Mortgages and Protection but many other areas including High Net Worth Mortgages, Property Development, Buy to Let’s and HMO’s.

Aaron initially started his career working in the wine industry; however, he discovered his passion for mortgages while struggling to secure his own mortgage on an unusual property. Very soon after he was passing his mortgage exams and he has not looked back.
Prior to co-founding Lansdown Financial Services, Aaron worked for one of the UK’s largest mortgage brokers and very quickly became one of the companies top mortgage and protection advisers. This continued into management where he won an award for Best Manager in his first year and went on to manage and train the companies most successful teams.
Aaron has gained a wealth of knowledge in most areas of mortgages but particularly enjoys helping clients secure the home of their dreams.
In his personal life Aaron is a big sports fan and has a passion for exploring new countries.
Doug Miller
Director / Mortgage and Protection Expert
With his wealth of experience Doug specialises in complex cases, including High Net Worth mortgages, portfolio landlords, SPV and layered company structure mortgages, as well as bridging finance.

Doug graduated from University of Birmingham with a BA Honors Degree in Geography in 2008. After working in the hospitality sector managing a number of bars and restaurants during his time whilst at and after university, and also working as a Brand Ambassador for Nike, he started working in the finance industry.
He qualified as a mortgage broker in 2009 shortly after joining one of the UK’s largest mortgage brokers. He worked there for 11 years and consistently finished in the top 10 out of more than 400 advisers in the company for written business every year, before co-founding Lansdown Financial Services in 2021.
With his wealth of experience Doug specialises in complex cases, including HNW loans above £1.0m, portfolio landlords, SPV and layered company structure mortgages, as well as bridging finance
Outside of work he has a young growing family with his wife Steph, is a very keen footballer and golfer, and, for his sins, an avid Arsenal fan.
Tom Dean
Senior Mortgage Expert
Tom has worked within the finance industry since 2017, starting out in retail banking before qualifying as a mortgage adviser. He has a wide range of experience from helping first time buyers, to clients looking to restructure their property portfolio.
In his personal life, Tom is a big sports fan. He regularly goes to the gym to train for CrossFit and Weightlifting competitions and also plays basketball for his local team.
Alannah Hall
Protection Adviser
Alannah originally started in the finance industry within retail banking, before becoming a qualified mortgage adviser in 2017. She previously worked for a large corporate mortgage broker for many years before realising she was more suited to working in a bespoke environment providing tailored advice to her clients.
In her home life, Alannah has two French bulldogs called Luci and Bunia, loves shopping and has a keen interest in trying new restaurants and food experiences.
Shaun Maloney
Mortgage Adviser
Shaun has worked in the financial services industry since 2006 working in retail banking and became a mortgage adviser in 2014 for a high street lender. He then decided the time came for a change after moving home to Bristol and wanted a more intimate and bespoke working environment that he could bring all his skills to and thrive in with growing and expanding his already great industry and regulatory knowledge.
In his free time, Shaun has two demanding and needy cats that always want attention, loves active holidays to new destinations with his husband ,always enjoys a visit to a designer shopping outlet and always enjoys new fine dining experiences to test his palate.
Russell Gibbons
Mortgage Adviser
Russell is a highly experienced Mortgage Expert with over 24 years’ specialist experience in mortgage brokerage. He progressed from Mortgage & Protection Adviser to long-serving Team Leader before returning to a client-facing Mortgage Expert role.
During his time leading teams he developed high-performing advisers, coached individuals to hit targets, and maintained strong team morale while ensuring full FCA compliance and excellent client outcomes. Russell particularly enjoys building long-term client relationships and guiding people through the mortgage process with clear, jargon-free advice.
Outside of work Russell enjoys foreign travel, music, reading, and following football and cricket.
Rhianna Butler
Senior Broker Administrator
Rhianna graduated from Bath Spa University with BA Honours degree in English Literature. Following university, and whilst working in some of Bath’s finest coffee shops as a supervisor, she bought her first home with her partner in Bath.
During this process she quickly realised she had a keen interest within the financial services industry and joined Lansdown FS to begin her journey.
During her spare time, Rhianna thoroughly enjoys anything to do with the outdoors, including hiking and climbing mountains. She also loves painting abstract oil portraits and reading non-fiction fantasy or sci-fi books.
Hannah-Rose Magain
Broker Administrator
Hannah-Rose graduated from University of Bristol with an MA in Medieval Studies where she focused specifically on ‘built heritage of the cultural environment;’ She has always had a keen interest in Historical Properties and so Bath was an ideal city to explore a new profession switching from her previous roles within the museum and customer service sector to the financial services industry.
In her spare time she volunteers with a number of archaeological groups on historic digs, enjoys hiking holidays preferably with a dog(s) in tow, and she also regularly loves to sing and act in AMDRAM productions.
Steph Gosling
Office Manager
Steph began her career as a high performing sales executive for Audi in Cardiff where she worked for many years, before moving to Bath for family reasons and joining VW in a similar role.
Following a career break whilst she brought up her son, she now works as our office manager responsible for all our general office admin, reception duties and booking appointments.
In her spare time Steph loves spending time with her family and friends, and will often be found walking the streets of Bath with many shopping bags!
